क्या भूत होते हैं ?

बचपन में सुनते थे कि भूत होता है

इतना समय हो गया कभी किसी भूत को देखा नहीं
लेकिन जब जीते जागते इंसानों को चलते - फिरते, उठते - बैठते, खाते - पीते और बोलते देखते हैं और लगता है कि ये जो दिखते हैं और खुद को जो दिखाते हैं, वो ये हैं नहीं तो लगता है कि कहीं ये सब भूत ही तो नहीं है ? जो दिखते हैं, वो ये हैं नहीं और जो हैं, वो ये दिखते नहीं यही तो भूत का लक्षण है !

ऐसा जीवन जिसमे आईना देखकर अपना अक्स खोज पाना मुश्किल है,
इतनी धूल जम चुकी है कि अंतरात्मा की आवाज सुनना मुश्किल है,
कहते हैं कि इंसान है पर खुद को पहचान पाना मुश्किल है,
भूत हों या न हों, पर इनका इंसान होना मुश्किल है

Does Experience matter for software programmers ?

Software programming needs understanding the problem and the programming language and tools and platform being used for solving the problem. Experienced programmers tend to solve the problem with old procedural methods where as for object oriented programming you need a different approach. Even if a person is having experience in objected oriented programming, it does not mean that he or she is well versed with new updates being delivered on that platform.

The easiest way to become a good programmer is to read help thoroughly for each and every control or statement, that you are going to use to solve the problem at hand. Another important aspect is code refactoring. Whenever you repeat any 2-3 lines of code in more than one method or form, just think that is it possible to create a class or inherit a class or create a new method and call that repeatedly. If you make this decision only second or third time while repeating code, it is easy to implement. Later on, you think that it is more work involved in changing old methods or classes as they have been used at many places and you tend to avoid the change. At some point later, you realize that it has become a headache to maintain so many repetitions of code, and you plan to launch a code refactoring project and need resources for the same. Whereas if you are aware about code refactoring at all times, it saves your time, energy and does not require you to take code refactoring as a separate job.

Just be aware of new versions/updates to the tools being used and read what the developers of these tools have written for you and you will start belonging to the class of just 1% good programmers out of the whole set of programmers getting bored with their job or blaming others for not getting enough rewards. To be really successful, you don't need to be only programmer or only UI designer or only system analyst. You must be all at the same time, aware of everything what you do and aware of every tool, statement and function you use.

वैसे तो इतिहास हमारे चारों तरफ बिखरा पड़ा है आवश्यकता है सूक्ष्म दृष्टि से उसे पहचानने की कण कण और क्षण क्षण इतिहास की सूक्ष्यमतम इकाईयां ही तो है तो वहीं दूसरी ओर हमारा सम्पूर्ण परिवेश हमारी सांस्कृतिक और साहित्यिक धरोहर का हिस्सा है हमारा घर गांव पगडडियां बाग बगीचे हमारे आसापास फैली हर वस्तु किसी न किसी उत्कृष्ट कला का नायाब नमूना है बस जरूरत है तो उस बारीक नजर की जिससे उसे पहचाना जा सके श्री बृजमोहन द्विवेदी ने लालसोट के इतिहास के माध्यम से हमारे आसपास पसरे इन नायाब तोहफों को पहचानने की नजर प्रदान करने का काम किया है ।

दरअस्ल समीक्ष्य पुस्तक के माध्यम से लालसोट के इतिहास के साथ साथ शोधपरक प्रामाणिक सूचनाऐं अत्यंत सरस और रोचक ढंग से प्रस्तूत करने में लेखक ने कामयाबी हासिल की है उन्होंने लालसोट जैसे छोटे से स्थान को लेकर यह ’शोधपरक कार्य किया और सफल भी हुए । नतीजतन लालसोट के दुर्गम बीहड़ और विस्तृत क्षेत्र में व्याप्त धार्मिक , सांस्कृतिक और सामाजिक रीति रिवाज परत दर परत हमारे सामने खुलते चले गये । महत्वपूर्ण घटनाये और इतिहास के ब्योरे एक एक कर हमारे सामने बेपर्दा होते चले गये । क्षेत्र का हेला खयाल दंगल , गणगौर की सवारी , दादूपंथी जमात और मंदिरों के साथ साथ ताजियों का वर्णन लालसोट में व्याप्त धार्मिक समरसता और सांस्कृतिक एकता का मार्ग प्रशस्त करता है । क्षेत्र के विकास में योगदान देने वाले श्रेष्ठजनों के ब्योरे भी अंकित करने का प्रयास लेखक ने किया हैं ।

समीक्ष्य पुस्तक मे कुल जमा दस अध्यास समाहित हैं जिनमें सम्पूर्ण लालसोट को समेटने का प्रयास किया गया है इनमें प्रमुख हैं ‘‘युद्धों की भूमि - अंधेरी पगडंडी’’, ‘‘अतीत के दो हजार वर्ष’’, ‘‘आध्यात्मिक आंदोलन’’ और ‘‘स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन’’ इसके अतिरिक्त लालसोट की कुछ झलकियां भी लेखक ने देने का प्रयास किया है, देखें
‘‘सीरो म्हारै कोस दंकोस्यो, पूआ कोस बारा । जो सुण पांऊ लाडू की तो, दौडूं कोस अठारा ।।’’
कहते हैं पच्चीस तीस वर्ष पूर्व देसी घी का जमाना था चाहे श्री बिनौरी हनुमान जी के किसी की तरफ से चोटी जड़ूले हो या माताजी की सवामणी हो तीन तीन कोस तक रसोई जीमणे पैदल ही दौड़ पड़ते और लौट आते थे जबकि आज लोग पड़ोस में होने वाले भोजन कार्यक्रम में जाने से कतराते हैं (पृष्ठ 108)

समीक्ष्य पुस्तक में लेखक ने क्षेत्र में मनाये जाने वाले बार त्यौहारों का बड़ी ही बारीकी से अध्ययन मनन किया है साँझा पूजन करने वाली युवतियों द्वारा गाये जाने वाला गीत है ‘‘कर बाई , साँझा आरती , आरतड्या में - हीरा मेलूं , मोती मेलूं रोक रूपया मेलॅं , राजाजी की कोयल मेलू रानीजी को सूवो मेलूं , पाँच मोहर पाटा पे मेलूं कर बाई साँझा आरती , कर बाई सूरज की भेण आरत्यो , चंदा की बाई आरत्यो ( पृष्ठ 76)

इसी तरह लालसोट निवासी हजारी लाल ग्रामीण की रचना ‘‘म्हारा प्यारो राजस्थान ’’
....कस केसरियो साफो सर पे , चाले छाती ताण ,
बांकी बांकी मुछड़ल्या रा , बांका बांका जवान ,
म्हारा प्यारा राजस्थान ।
....तू राणा री जन्म भूमि दुर्गादास रो देस ,
बापोती बाप्पा रावल री , हजारी रो हृदयेस ,
म्हारा प्यारा राजस्थान ’’ ( पृष्ठ 115 )

ब्रजमोहन द्विवेदी ने इतिहास को जानने पहचानने का यत्किंचित प्रयास करते हुए कहा
‘‘लोक में
जिनके नाम की चर्चा है
क्षुद्र सीमाओं को लांघकर
जिनकी प्रशस्तियां लिपिबद्ध हैं
इतिहास वहीं है ।

Why not first time ?

In my two decades of work in IT, there is one thing that I've seen over and over. It could be inside companies of any size or a part of new start up ventures. There seems to be this idea from all developers, and DBAs, that they have the solution. They know what to build and they'll build a wonderful piece of software the first time. They might be right, but it's not likely.

Too often we don't build the best software the first time. It's certainly not all our fault since there are plenty of business people that "think" they know what they want, but they really don't until they see something. And then start asking for a new piece of software, or substantial modifications to what they have.

Building software is hard, and as I spend more time in this business I think that building something great takes time. Like fine whiskey, it must age, mellow, and be tended along the way. It's not like a house where everything is planned from the start, but more like an evolving Formula-1 car that is tweaked and tuned with the user inside of it.

Can we recycle electric bulbs?

Today I had to change electric bulb in bathroom and my 13 yr old son Vinayak asked me that can we recycle the electric bulb or not. With my limited knowledge, I replied him that due to vacuum inside bulb, it may not be possible. But he questioned that can we not create vacuum as well.

I think it can be a good business proposition to recycle electric bulbs if it can be done as cottage industry in small towns and villages. Lot of bulbs get fused in India due to fluctuation in voltage and other reasons. It may reduce costs and save the environment as well.

I have often seen that new entrepreneurs worry too much about valuation. They should focus on creating value and not valuation. And by value, I mean find paying customers, create an IP and/or a brand - the revenues will follow. Once you have revenues, manage costs so that profits grow - only then you'll have a valuable enterprise.

Remember that Angels or funds who agree to invest in your company also have to make money. They make bets, some work and some don't. So unless the investor asks for over 50% ownership, its OK.

If you feel shortchanged on ownership, ask for an incentive for a superlative performance. If you are a passionate entrepreneur, you ought to be interested in getting on with the job, instead of wasting time looking for the best valuation.
